Winning 2023 Championship While Promoting Causes For Veterans, Military Families & Disabled Would Be a First

In his second year of racing in the SRO TC America Series, pro driver Colin Garrett is leading in points for the 2023 Championship heading into the season’s last two race weekends. Garrett currently has 199 points racing his Rooster Hall Racing No. 44 11/11 Veteran Project Team UNBROKEN BMW and leads his closest competitor by 47 points. Coming out of Sebring, Florida, the weekend of September 22-24 with a 51-point lead would lock in the championship for Garrett.

The last two race weekends will have Garrett and his 11/11 Veteran Project continuing his mission to promote access to resources that help improve the lives of veterans, military families, and the disabled. He will be racing to promote Team UNBROKEN, HEAL*ARIOUS, The Rosie Network, Tech For Troops, and Racing For Heroes. At the season finale race in Indy, Garrett will also be promoting the winners of the 11/11 pitch competition awarded at the Iowa Veterans Entrepreneurship Conference in May.

Garrett’s two brothers are military, making the mission personal for him and his Double Blue Star Family. “It would be such an honor to win the Series Championship while running the colors of military nonprofits and Veteran Owned small businesses,” he said. “I feel like I’d be winning it for them, giving them a rallying point to continue their great work.”

Being able to promote nonprofits and small businesses is the result of a unique business model for Colin Garrett Racing. Rather than having traditional motorsports sponsors, he and 11/11 Veteran Project work as consultants to help corporations solve critical problems like recruiting and retaining great employees, and reaching military families or veteran owned small businesses. The profits from that work are then used to fund racing to promote the causes and small businesses that Garrett and 11/11 support.

Past Veteran Owned small businesses have been able to leverage a spot on Colin’s car to reach enviable goals. Retired Army Command Sergeant Major Donnell Johns, founder of Veterans Growing America, says “Colin Garrett’s 11/11 project is a great way to elevate your organization’s message and status. Veterans Growing America went from doing one day events to a storefront in a premium shopping center.” Their new location in Northern Virginia is adjacent to Apple and Starbucks.

11/11 Veteran Project’s business model is also a plus for the companies they consult to. It allows those clients to be part of a higher purpose while also solving their real business problems.

The Sebring race weekend will consist of practice on Friday, August 22; qualifying, Race 1, and an autograph session on Saturday, August 23; and Race 2 on Sunday, August 24. The final race weekend and awarding the 2023 Championship will be at Indy on October 5-8.
