Winner’s Logo Will Be Featured on Professional Driver Colin Garrett’s Race Car

Professional race car driver Colin Garrett announced today that his 11/11 Veteran Project will host a pitch competition at the Iowa Veterans Entrepreneurship Conference at Iowa State University on June 2, 2023.

The prize is something most small businesses would never dream of: having their logo in a spot on Garrett’s car for one of his race weekends.

The monetary value of the prize is $10,000, but the real value is much higher. The winner will get promotional photos and videos for their own marketing use, evergreen content that can be used forever.

“I’m excited to see who wins this pitch competition, who I’ll be able to promote on the car and work with to promote 11/11 Veteran Project,” Colin Garrett said. “This is an opportunity for me to help another veteran or military spouse owned business shine, and I see it as an honor.”

Supporting the military community is personal to Garrett: both of his brothers are service members. He founded 11/11 Veteran Project to use his national platform as a professional race car driver to promote access to resources that will help veterans and military families live the life they deserve.

Past Veteran Owned small businesses have been able to leverage a spot on Colin’s car to reach enviable goals.

Body Water LLC, founded by disabled Army veteran Sherman Williams, has used it to help get their Body Aqua products in chains like Winn Dixie. Veterans Growing America, founded by retired Army Command Sergeant Major Donnell Johns, was able to score a storefront in a premier location in Northern Virginia adjacent to Apple and Starbucks.

Pitch competitors will need to deliver a two-minute pitch covering points such as:

  • What is your business and what do you do?
  • Who are your customers and how do you reach them?
  • What milestones have you accomplished?
  • How would this opportunity benefit your business?
  • How could you leverage the opportunity to connect more people to the 11/11 Veteran Project?
  • How could you leverage this opportunity to support the 11/11 Veteran Project?
  • Why should the judges select you as the winner?
