Meet and Greet With Pat Tillman Award for Service Winner and Founder of Team Unbroken, retired Army Command Sergeant Major Gretchen Evans
When Colin Garrett realized that wear blue: run to remember is an organization supported by the founder of another organization that he personally supports, Team UNBROKEN, it was only natural that he find a way to merge that support. This weekend’s race at COTA kicks off the beginning of that relationship and will further Garrett’s mission to promote access to resources for veterans and military families.
US Army Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Gretchen Evans is the founder of Team UNBROKEN, which Garrett and his 11/11 Veteran Project have been promoting since 2022.
wear blue and CSM Evans were introduced in September of 2021 when they paired to tackle the first leg of the Military Women’s Memorial 9/11 relay that stretched the 174 miles from the Flight 93 Memorial in Pennsylvania to the gates of Arlington National Cemetery.
11/11 Veteran Project’s mission is to promote access to resources that will help veterans and military families live the life they deserve and wear blue: run to remember’s vision is a healthy, ready, and resilient military family. For 11/11 to support wear blue is a natural fit.
Since wear blue is on the car of driver Chris Walsh, an active-duty Air Force officer, Garrett has invited them to combine forces for the Meet and Greet with CSM Evans. She will be available at the track for photos and autographs at 1pm for the TCX race and 3pm for the GT4 race.
Over the SRO COTA weekend Colin Garrett is racing TCX in a Rooster Hall BMW M2 and GT4 with co-driver Johan Schwartz in a Rooster Hall BMW M4 GT4. Chris Walsh is racing GT4 with co-driver Dominic Starkweather in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.
